According to statistic data, one of the best teams in the history of college baseball is the team of the University of Southern California which is called the Trojans (USC Trojans). The USC Trojans took part in 21 College World Series games and won most of these games, to be exact – 70 games.

The Trojans are one of the oldest college baseball teams. They had their first game in 1889. They lost that game, but there are no records about this game. The first game which was recorded took place in 1892. It was a game between the USC Trojans and Woodbury Business College; the Trojans won with the score 14-3.
Next year this team played 10 games during the baseball season at colleges. But next four years the Trojans didn’t appear too much and according to records, they played only 3 games.

In the period from 1898 till 1902 the USC Trojans had bad times. In 1902 the situation changed thanks to new pitcher Rube Waddell, who became one of the baseballs stars of those times. When he managed to play in four different Major League teams, he was accepted to the Hall of Fame. And no doubts his contribution to the second birth of Trojans is significant.

During the pre-World War1 period and during the period of the war itself, times were difficult for the team. And their full renewal happened in 1920. And in 1927 they became a member of a college baseball conference. Since that time this team always goes forward.
